I just found out that not only do I have a meeting to go to next week (which I usually don't mind, since it means going into the city and getting lots of errands done, but this one is in STATEN ISLAND! I have to make all the way from Westchester to Saten Island by 9:30 a.m. I am not happy, not happy at all.

there seems to be this insane number of librarianly types who live on staten island or in deep, deep suburbia (read: not yonkers or jersey city or even newark or white plains), and as a result these things get messy.

i'm going to avoid the urge to use this as an opportunity to bitch about the demographics of the profession. :)

staten island isn't THAT bad, but driving in the morn is no fun; more tolls through jersey or more angst through bklyn...or metro-north to the 1/9 to the ferry...oh my.

mmmm . . . you gotta realize, this isn't about it being Staten Island, it's about it being even further away than usual. I live in Westchester, so this is like the maximum distance they can make me go and still be within the NYPL system.

yeah...on the bright side hopefully it's not too far south on staten island. i had to go to something up on bainbridge avenue once from staten island and i really almost became delerious about halfway through the trip.

i just always get stuck in traffic on staten island for no apparent good reason. but that's my bad mojo.
