a new way of saying it

So, as you know, I visited my mom last week. I will post more about the visit as a whole later, but I want to talk about one little thing that was cute.

Now, I look a lot like my mom. So much so, that I remember perfect strangers looking at me when I was 6 or so and saying, "Well, we know whose daughter YOU are!" So, of course, she introduced me to a bunch of her new friends and most of them said something along the lines of "You really DO look alike" (except for one inexplicable holdout, who said she didn't see it).

But the lady across the street looked at me, looked at Mom, and said, "Did you make her all by yourself?"

I was just amused.
