So this morning, in the shower, I started to feel a kind of buzzing in my head, and my vision started to turn black. This has happened to me before, periodically since at least college. So I just sat down for a minute until it started to go away, and then stood back up. Then I opened my eyes again to discover I was back on the floor, stuff had been knocked off the little shelf, and the stall door had been knocked open. Not a good sign.

So, considering that I asked the doctor about this in college, and she said she couldn't find anything wrong except maybe blood pressure on the low end of the scale, is this something I need to worry about? Is it because of the weight loss? Or maybe the recent influx of caffeine (Rich has rediscovered our coffeemaker)?

I have no idea, but it's probably best to see a doctor about this. Good luck!

Sweetie, see a doctor, preferably a neurologist. SOON. I don't want to upset you, but one of my daughter's friends has a seizure disorder that operates similarly to what you describe- she has an 'aura' and then loses track of time. You do NOT, repeat NOT want this to happen while you are driving!

Thr friend's issues are wll controlled by medication so she gets through life just fine. But this is something that deserves attention.

Sending love and light to you.

You may have just fainted, which in itself is cause for getting a basic physical, but the knocked over shelf worries me. The blackness instead of aura is how an old co-worker of mine used to describe her seizures. How much can a co-pay for a physical cost, compared to peace of mind? And even if it is just low blood pressure, they can help with diet issues related to that. Why do you think I salt everything?

You replied to a post I made in Bustingout, so I was looking at your Journal and see this post. What it sounds like to me (not a medical-type person) is low blood sugar. My wife has much the same problem at times, she has to eat something protein-based about every three hours or she has balance/vision/awareness problems. Her father discovered a couple years ago that he has type-2 (adult onset) diabetes. Good luck with it, and I hope you can find out for sure what it is and it's easily treatable/curable.
