I can't believe I just had to explain to an upstanding senior citizen (someone who is here almost every day) why she couldn't tear things out of the library's newspaper. Her rationalization? "But, you're about to close." First of all, not for almost 2 hours. Second of all, someone might want to read that tomorrow.

I remember at a previous job a mild mannered colleague caught a hockey player trying to tear an article featuring himself out of the paper. His excuse was that he had that right because it was about him and the paper was a day old. I thought mark was gonna beat him with the paper rod.
